Lincoln Square

Like many neighborhoods in Chicago, Lincoln Square has strong ties to a certain nationality. Here you will find numerous German businesses, such as the Chicago Brauhas, Merz Apothecary, Lutz Bakery, and a handful of smaller German themed gift shops. Lincoln Square is also home to the DANK Haus (German American National Congress), the Niedersachsen Club, and was the original headquarters for Amerika-Woche, a German-language weekly newspaper. Lincoln Square also likes to celebrate it's German heritage by bookending Chicago's festival season with May Fest and Oktoberfest, as well as hosting the Von Steuben Day Parade every September.

As a (former) resident of the area, I can also attest to the fact that daschund/wiener dog ownership seems to be higher around here than in any other part of Chicago.
