The Loop
After New York City's Midtown Manhattan, the Chicago Loop is the nation's second largest commercial business district with almost $2 billion annually spent on retail purchases. Formerly home to Chicago's flagship locations for Marshall Field and Carson Pirie Scott, the Loop has historically been one of this city's go-to shopping destinations. While the experience is different from previous decades, with department stores having by and large been replaced by "cheap chic" stores, such as Forever 21, H&M and Urban Outfitters, shoppers still make trips from all over the region to spend their time and money in the Loop.
